Isaac Julien ‘Ice Cave’ for Rolls Royce Arts Program

Inspired by the Brazilian architect, curator, writer and designer, Lina Bo Bardi, Isaac Julien’s work explores the nature of inventiveness and creativity through one of the most important figures of the 20th century Latin American Modernist movement. The first part of Stones Against Diamonds was commissioned by the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Arts Program and premiered during the preview week of the 56th Venice Biennale as an installation of five vertical screens. It was then shown during Art Basel in Switzerland with ten vertical screens and the definitive configuration of the last fifteen screens for the YoungArts Foundation in Miami.
